“One day I’m meeting, meeting the girl” circles like a private promise refusing to give up.

The Girl knowingly leans into the hypnotic repetition of Daft Punk’s *Around the World*, but brings that vast, impersonal loop down to North London scale: Costa queues, Lidl aisles, football loyalties and the high street. The search is funny, awkward and increasingly desperate. The imagined woman could be almost anyone; what matters is escaping the loneliness.

Yet this is not despair disguised as dance music. Every return of the chorus becomes an act of stubborn optimism—as if repeating the hope might force the future to arrive. By the final verse, it does. A corner is turned, fingers meet over coffee, and the song moves from “one day” to “now.”

For a few bright minutes, an ordinary supermarket aisle becomes the centre of the world.
